Jewish Day School of NJ

Are you ready to jump-start your child's Jewish education? There is no better place to do that than at The Gerrard Berman Day School. Our NJ Jewish nursery school exposes children to a comprehensive and diverse curriculum of all the major school subjects: reading, math, science, art, technology, as well as incorporating the Jewish elements of study. Students will learn all about Jewish holiday celebrations, traditions and rituals, and the Hebrew language as well.

There are a few program goals at the heart of our NJ Jewish Day School. We want to instill a love for creativity and socialization. We achieve this through hands-on, tactile activities, free-form play, and group instruction. We want to make sure your child feels safe and happy whenever they come to our school, so it is imperative that our school is a loving environment with a predictable and reliable structure, since children are comforted by routine.

Our NJ Jewish nursery school offers many different kinds of childhood programs to fit your personal needs and availability. Our students first come to our school for Mommy and Me classes and eventually graduate to young 2's. Our early childhood classes can be offered anywhere from 1-5 days a week based on what you think is best for your child. Prekindergarten and kindergarten classes are five days a week, ending at 3:30 in the afternoon. If you need your child to stay longer, or come in earlier, we also offer before and after care from 7:45 AM to 6 PM.

We would love to meet you and your child and answer any questions you may have. To learn more about our Jewish nursery school of NJ, give us a call today and schedule a visit: 201-337-1111.

Jewish Day Care in New Jersey

At the Gerrard Berman Day School, also known as the Solomon Schecter Day School of North Jersey, we are proud to have a thorough and extensive early childhood department that teaches our community's young ones to both appreciate their Jewish culture and the art of learning. By instilling an early passion for religion and education, through the use of our Jewish day care in NJ, it sets these children up for a lifetime of success.

In our warm, cozy and nurturing environment, we expose the children, ages 2-5 years, to a comprehensive curriculum of  reading, science, art, technology, mathematics, Jewish Holiday celebrations, traditions, and Hebrew language. Our teachers aim to inspire the children, applaud their strengths, gently help them improve their weaknesses, and above all, teach the kids about Derech Eretz, also known as “acts of consideration and kindness towards others.” Our Jewish day care in NJ is not just a hebrew school, or a preschool & kindergarten, it is also a place where children go to learn how to interact respectfully with one another.

In our Early Childhood Program, (with part-time and full-time daycare options), we like to make things fun so that the children will not get bored and disinterested. By employing hands-on assignments, group projects, and creative, open-ended playtime, the kids have freedom of expression and can learn more about themselves and each other.

Our NJ Jewish Day Care center offers a wide variety of classes to accommodate everyone's busy schedules. Our youngest pupils start off in Mommy & Me classes, then go onto Young 2's. All of our classes have flexible hours from 1 to 5 days a week. For pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, our classes are 5 days a week until 3:30. All of our classes have an added bonus: you have the option of placing your child in before and after-care from 7:45 AM until 6 PM.

For any questions or comments about our Jewish day care in NJ, please call us at 201-337-111. Ask for Mrs. Sylvia Berger, Director of Admissions. We look forward to hearing from you!

All About Our Conservative Jewish Day School

For as long as Jews have existed, we have understood the importance of maintaining a tight-knit community. We forge a family feeling among our fellow Jewish friends and colleagues, by attending Sabbath services together, getting together for the holidays and getting to know each other in Conservative Jewish Day School. The Gerrard Berman Day School appreciates how crucial it is for the Jewish community to thrive and has spent nearly the last 30 years upholding that tradition.

The first eighth grade class graduated from The George and Arline Haar Middle School in 1999. Our graduates have gone on to attend the most selective high schools and further excel in the country's most elite universities.

Anyone who wants to enroll is welcome. Our Conservative Jewish Day School aims to combine a top-notch academic program within a comforting and nurturing Jewish environment, paying specific attention to each individual child. We try to challenge our students with as many innovative and creative learning opportunities as possible.

In the education process, we put a premium on fostering a sense of Jewish identity by teaching students the Hebrew language, as well as explaining our long-standing historical traditions and teaching children about the history of Israel.

We welcome all parents who are looking to enroll their children in our Conservative Jewish Day School. Our mission is to provide academic excellence in a nurturing Jewish environment - one child at a time. We live that mission every day through our teachers, staff and board, who are all committed to creating this atmosphere. As you browse through our website, you will find answers to many of your questions, as well as get a taste of what makes us proud of the Gerrard Berman Day School. To truly appreciate this warm, enriching environment, you must experience it for yourself.

The Gerrard Berman Conservative Jewish Day School is an early twos nursery through eighth grade school. We currently have more than 100 students enrolled, and we keep our class sizes small, no more than an intimate eight to 12 students per room, so that we can offer as much attention as possible to our children.

If you have any questions about our Conservative Jewish Day School, we encourage you to give us a call and we will gladly provide you with more information. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have about classes, teachers, programs and more! If you want to see the school for yourself, we can set up an appointment for a tour. We would love to meet with you!
